Commissioned by the NY Dept. of Health via agency DCF Advertising, I produced, directed and edited this award-winning public health spot which warns of the dangers of smoking through the use of graphic medical imagery and CGI showing the damage done to the human body after years of cigarette smoking. One of 5 commissioned spots, this one was chosen for widespread exposure because of it's high-testing effectiveness in turning viewers off to the idea of cigarette smoking. It was broadcast heavily in the NY tri-state area on all the major networks during 2008, and was later chosen by the governments of China and Russia to be used in those countries for their own anti-smoking efforts.
Jamil Touré was awarded 2 Telly Awards (one for Producer, and one for Editor) in 2008. Touré served as Director/Producer and Sr. Editor/Post-Producer on all 5 spots. Additional Editors were Pierre Fabre and Ryan G. All VFX/CGI for this spot was handled by Jenya Lugina, and After Effects titling by Jamil Touré.
